The Challenge

South-west based Audio startup Picspeak are in the process of launching their stunning range of HiFi loudspeakers which can be customised to incorporate art. Each part is hand crafted and professionally printed with an image of the purchasers choosing.

The technical challenges, manufacturing methods and all the other engineering tasks were complete but there was no technical file or compliance mark to support sales in the EU or UK.

As a startup, Picspeak had limited experience with the compliance process and were unsure what was necessary to place the product on the market, so they approached Paul Mullen at Cubik EPS to help navigate this complex path and avoid launch delays that could stall its commercial momentum.

Paul worked with partner test houses to confirm the correct standards. Picspeak only intended to sell in the UK and EU but a route was mapped out for future expansion into other territories, including the US, Australia and New Zealand.
